ALPHA SOLAR "What makes it work"?

The ALPHA solar water heating system has 5 key components:Vaccum glass tubes ,mirrored
reflector, pump station ,expansion vessel and a Alphastat Solar controller used to control the
electrical element on your hot water cylinder and monitor the ALPHA solar heating system.

The CPC Solar Panel is unique, designed with following features:

These vacuum tubes are fitted together and lie above the CPC.(mirrored reflector) The CPC
reflects the ultra-violet and infra-red light rays back on to the tubes allowing for 360 degrees
of tube absorption , giving an extra 18 % efficiency of energy as opposed to a flat plate being
180 degrees.of heating area at 12 noon .

Between the inner and outer tube is vacuumed this gives excellent insulation like the thermos
flask principle, 94% efficient. On the outside of the inner tube is a selective nitrite coating
which absorbs ultra violet and infra red rays from the day light , making the tubes provide
energy to convert into heat even on cloudy days.

The evacuated tubes themselves are made from borosilicate glass and are strong enough to
with stand hailstones up to 25mm in diameter. However should one break they can be easily
replaced by our skilled installers or the homeowner.

ALPHA SOLAR "How does it work" ?

The ALPHA water heating system is about "pressure cooker technology". The boiling point of
water at atmospheric temp (No pressure) is 100 deg C (i.e. Boiling water in your jug at home
= (no pressure) The ALPHA solar system pressurizes the glycol/water mix fluid to 350kpa
(50psi), when you do this you raise the boiling point so effectively the ALPHA solar panel can
have the fluid at 140-170 degrees Celsius without it boiling allowing the water heating process
in your hot water cylinder to be much quicker and more efficient.

Heat from the tubes is transferred by way of an aluminium heat exchange plate to the copper
pipes, which are situated inside the tubes. When the panel gets 12 deg.hotter than the water
in the HWC, the solar controller activates the solar pump and the hot water flows from the
panel to the HWC, heating your water via an ALPHA heat exchanger , the heat exchanger
makes the hot water cylinder heat to its desired thermostat temperature safe and efficiently so
there is no chance of an overheat in the cylinder...

The Alphastat solar controller is pre programmed , no settings to worry about , no need to
turn the power switch to the hot water cylinder on and off , this is done automatically ,set and
forget.

The ALPHA Solar CPC Panel can achieve temperatures of up to 160°C even in the winter
depending on conditions , not bad considering the heat source is free.

This easy to install system can be adapted to all types of places for example Hotes/ Motels ,
Schools , Swimming pools , Dairy sheds , Camp grounds , Rest homes , and of course on
new and existing hot water cylinders so there is no obtrusive holding tank and the sleek glass
tube collector lies discreetly flat on the roof
